Offering art
I've been wanting to write a "Tell me what TV to watch!" post, because Christ, I miss being active in fandom. I've finally, finally been feeling better, and I want to start, you know, interacting with people again. I miss y'all.
Alas, this isn't that post.
On Wednesday, my cat got sick. No, not that cat. The other one. He had a blocked urinary tract, which required surgery. The surgery was over a thousand dollars- which I didn't have. The vet took pity on me and reduced it to 500, which I had, but only barely. He's had to be hospitalized for the past two days, which my parents helped pay for, although they're having their own monetary troubles. I'm taking him home tonight. I spoke to the vet, and the charge for today is... more than the estimate they gave me. A lot more. With that, on top of the bills for the first cat, I'm kind of... low on funds, to say the least.
The long and short of it is, I'm offering commissions to help pay these costs. My fannish art can be seen here, although at the moment much is unavailable because it was in my scrapbook, and I no longer have a paid account. When I get home, I'll reupload it elsewhere. At the moment, I'm thinking: 15-20$ for uncolored sketch, 35-45 for colored picture, one character, with additional characters extra, and 50-100 for a piece with full background, depending on complexity. I'll try to have of each type later, and I'm willing to negotiate price.
I'm most familiar with DC comics, of course, but I'm happy to draw original stuff, or any other fandom if you can provide me reference. (My skills with drawing real people, as opposed to cartoons, are... not so stellar, but I'm willing to try).
If you're interested, e-mail me at red(dot)eft(at)gmail(dot)com, and if you happen to know someone who has a burning desire for someone to draw them naked superheroes, point them my way. I know a lot of folk don't have much to spare at the moment (and, you know, no pressure or anything. I'll be okay.) but if you do, drop me a line.
