So I'm at comic-con. It's been good, if tiring. Was totally going to write up sort of con report, but am tired. Too tired for pronouns. In sum:
Thursday: Drove to San Diego. Stayed by the beach. Discovered the ocean is awesome. Ate rice pudding.
Friday: Con! Went to Writing for Comics Panel, with Peter David, David Peterson, Maggie Thompson and Orson Scott Card. Card came in fifteen minutes late, sat down, made a few snarky comments, and then left. Was unimpressed. Fond of Peter David, however. Went (begrudgingly) to 300/Bladerunner panel. Bladerunner panel totally worth suffering Frank Miller allergies. Wandered Exhibition Hall. Went to dinner. Arrived at hotel to find that we had one bed and one couch for seven people. Slept.
Saturday: Breakfast! Eggs at hotel square-shaped. Distressing. Went to con. Made fun of bad art in Art Show. Napped in hallway. Bought comics. Met Eric Shanower. Stammered idiotically. Went to Gays in Comics panel. Paul Levitz was token straight person. Felt vaguely embarrassed for him. Returned to hotel. Ordered pizza. Made blog post.
Sunday: IT IS A MYSTERY.
I know there was a Girl Wonder meetup that I missed. Ah well, next year.
Possibly a more detailed post later- at least about Paul Levitz being vaguely embarrassing at the GiC panel. But it's good times all around. |
